The history of tattoo can be traced way back to the ancient period. This unique art was once a custom that many tribes inculcated. The essence of possessing a tattoo defined the traits of a person and often conveyed meanings such as brave, wise, ruthless, mature et cetera. The ancients used it as a medium to protect the integrity of their tribe. In that age, every tattoo had told a different story of either glory or grief. This was alien to the Europeans and had deemed this practice as Pagan or Heretic.
